Wildlife Monitoring

Earth Tech has been using a remote camera to monitor wildlife activity on a parcel of land in North Fort Myers.  The diversity of wildlife documented has been amazing and includes a black bear, wild hogs, turkey, raccoon, white-tailed deer and even a cow giving birth!

Gopher Tortoise Relocation

Earth Tech recently completed an onsite gopher tortoise relocation for a home builder in Cape Coral.  ETE excavated two (2) tortoise out of harm’s way and coordinated temporary penning at the rear of the property.  The tortoise will be released onsite after clearing is complete so they can re-establish burrows.

Tidal Gauges

ETE is currently maintaining 4 auto logging tidal gauges in the Clam Bay estuary.  Our technicians make sure the gauges are functioning properly and troubleshoot potential issues when they are not.  The gauges log tide stages within the estuary automatically and remotely transmit the data via a cellular modem.  The stations are powered by solar […]

Clam Pass Shorebird Monitoring

As part of the Clam Pass dredging project, ETE is providing daily shorebird monitoring.  ETE monitors the beach work locations each morning prior to equipment being moved in order to make sure no shorebird nesting has taken place in areas that could be disturbed by dredging and sand placement.

Clam Pass Dredging

As part of the Clam Pass dredging project taking place during the month of April, ETE is providing a variety of monitoring and permit compliance services to the Pelican Bay Services Division.  These include pre-construction seagrass surveys, pre-construction gopher tortoise surveys, and ongoing shorebird monitoring.
