Gopher Tortoise Permitting & Relocations

Gopher tortoises are protected under Florida law due to their threatened status. As keystone species, they are essential to their upland ecosystem by providing habitat for about 350 other species with their burrows. Gopher tortoises dig deep burrows averaging about 15 feet long and 7 feet deep for habitat and shelter. They live 40 to 60 years in the wild.

Earth Tech Environmental conducts gopher tortoise relocations throughout the State of Florida to safely remove the tortoises before development or construction of a property. Relocating the tortoises prioritizes their conservation and gives an increased chance of long-term survival.
