Environmental Consultant
Position Overview
Earth Tech Environmental is a privately owned environmental consulting and ecosystem restoration firm. We are seeking an experienced, mid-level Environmental Consultant to join our team. The environmental consultant will manage projects and assist other staff with fieldwork and permitting.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will work on a variety of environmental resource permitting projects, listed species surveys and due diligence assessments. This role will involve supporting ETE’s multi-disciplinary environmental permitting and compliance assessments that require working knowledge of State and Federal requirements.
Education/Experience
- Undergraduate degree required in Environmental Science, Ecology, or Biological Sciences
- Environmental Consulting Experience Required (3 or year more preferred)
Technical/Other Skills
- BS/BA degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Botany, Biology, or related field (required)
- 3+ years’ relevant experience, including state and federal wetland and species permitting requirements (required)
- Knowledge of wetland delineation following Florida methodologies (62-340 FAC and the Florida Wetland Delineation Manual) (preferred)
- Ecological field work experience, including wetland delineation and protected species surveys (required)
- Familiarity with Florida plant communities (required)
- Possess strong technical writing skills and have experience writing detailed reports (required)
- FWC Authorized Gopher Tortoise Agent (preferred)
- Professional certifications preferred (PWS, CWB, PMP, CEP etc.)
- Working knowledge or strong interest in ArcGIS
- Interest in working with planners and designers to avoid and minimize ecological impacts
- Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines
- Desire to provide exceptional client service· Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities
- Enjoy working in both an office environment and in the field
- Ability to work safely outdoors in variable weather conditions and on challenging terrain
- Must have a strong attention to detail in documentation of work
- Must have strong organizational and communication skills
- Demonstrated independent and effective problem solving and decision making skills
- Willingness and flexibility to occasionally travel within the State for projects as needed
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to enjoy work independently and on a team
- Valid driver’s license required
- Boat experience a plus

Exotic Removal Field Technicians
We have full-time job openings on our ecological restoration field crews.
Duties include:
- Identification and removal of exotic/invasive vegetation
- Must be able to carry up to 40 lb. spray pack over challenging terrain
- General operation and use of chainsaw/machete
- Ability to work long periods of time in all weather conditions
- Requires extensive walking, standing, bending, lifting, digging, and some moderate climbing

Student Internships
Earth Tech Environmental is partnering with local colleges to offer student internships each semester. Internships are paid, part-time to full-time positions available to students interested in the environmental field. Successful interns may be offered a full-time position when they graduate.
Duties include:
- Identification of native and exotic/invasive vegetation
- Wetland preserve monitoring and maintenance
- Ability to work in all weather conditions
- GIS mapping, research, fulfillment of personal project
- Assist environmental consultants and field technicians with general duties in the field and office.
