ETE recently completed a mangrove trimming job at The Landings at Bear’s Paw in Collier County.  ETE has 2 professional mangrove trimmers (PMT) on staff to assist with mangrove questions.

Often a significant improvement in water view can be achieved through a combination of exotic removal and mangrove trimming under FDEP exemptions.  Below are examples of before and after photographs. Slide to the right to see the waterline after trimming.

Mangroves are an important part of southwest Florida ecology –  they provide nursery habitat for many species of fish and shellfish and can serve as a rookery for many coastal birds. They also improve water quality by serving as a natural filter and prevent erosion. Mangroves are protected in Florida after many were destroyed by development. Give us a call if you have questions about managing the mangroves on your property.
