Crested Caracara Nesting Monitoring
Crested caracaras are bird of prey native to Florida. These large raptors inhabit wet prairies and wooded areas and are mostly threatened by habitat loss. Surveys of the protected crested caracara will be conducted in accordance with the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation. Prior to any fieldwork, a survey plan will be submitted to USFWS for approval.
Snail Kite Nesting Surveys
Snail kites is an endangered bird of prey that almost exclusively feeds on apple snails. Due to drainage and development of the Everglades, this species has lost a large amount of habitat. ETE is conducting a survey during the breeding season of January through May and will report any suitable habitat or conditions that may indicate possible nesting areas.

Wetland Determinations and Flagging
ETE provided the client with a formal wetland determination that is conducted by flagging the field using GIS for accuracy. The jurisdictional was approved by the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD), confirming the limits of the wetland areas on the property.
Bonneted Bat Surveys
Bonneted bats are the largest species of bat in Florida and are endangered largely in part to habitat destruction. Cavities in tree hollows and snags are inspected for the presence of Bonneted Bats (Eumops floridanus) guided by USFWS standards. Pole cameras are peeped into potential roost locations and signs of activity are recorded. Sightings will be mapped into GIS and submitted to the County or U.S. Fish and Wildlife Services.
