Gopher Tortoise Survey for Permitting

Earth Tech Environmental (ETE) will conduct a burrow survey on the subject property for gopher tortoises. The purpose of this survey is to determine the number of burrows on a specific site for potential relocation or take permits from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC). This task includes performing pedestrian transects within the boundaries of the project site. The distance between the transects will be established to cover 100% of each area surveyed. Locations of potentially occupied and abandoned burrows will be flagged in the field and GPS located. These surveys are typically good for 90 days when applying for permits, so they need to be coordinated with the timing of building permit applications.
