Mangrove Trimming

ETE recently completed a mangrove trimming job along the Imperial River in Bonita Springs.  ETE has 2 professional mangrove trimmers (PMT) on staff to assist waterfront homeowners with mangrove questions.  Often a significant improvement in water view can be achieved through a combination of exotic removal and mangrove trimmer under FDEP exemptions.  Below are examples of before and after photographs along the Imperial River.  The changes documented here utilize a technique called “windowing” that allows a view through the mangroves instead of hedging them down in a much more un-natural look.
