ETE installed a new osprey nesting platform at the Club at Barefoot Beach in Bonita Springs last week. The platform was a custom-made aluminum design set on top of a 35 foot fiberglass pole. The previous wooden platform had been destroyed by Hurricane Irma last year.

Jimmy used the Kubota to remove the existing damaged structure and install the new platform.

Osprey nests are built of sticks and other natural materials collected by the male and arranged by the female. A nesting pair will gradually add new material each year. A brand new nest will begin as just a couple feet wide and after several generations of additions it can grow to nearly six feet wide and over ten feet deep! This sturdy platform will be host to new osprey chicks for many generations to come.
